- Word Count: Up to 4,000 words, excluding cover page, abstract, tables, figures, figure legends, and references.
- Abstract: Up to 250 words.
- References: Up to 60.
- Figures: Up to 8 figures/tables will be admitted.

- Why this is important: summarize what implications this study has.
This box must be no more than 5 sentences and must be constructed without repeating what your abstract already includes.
It is desirable that the research protocols, from which these results were obtained, be approved by the corresponding Research and Ethics Committee, and this approval must be indicated in the Materials and Methods section. In addition, the authors must send (Submissions section) a copy of the opinion issued by the Research and Ethics Committee that approved the research protocol.
Preparing your manuscript for submission
Manuscripts must be written in the Word processor, the font requested for writing is Times New Roman 12 points, with 2 line spacing, and margins adjusted to 2.5 cm.
The submission must include the following documents:
- Manuscript submission format (PDF) Download document.
- Cover page (Word file)
- Article text (Word blind article file)
- Figures and images that must be uploaded in JPG, TIFF, or PGN format.
- Originality letter (PDF file) Download format.
- Authorization letter for literary communication (article) (PDF file) Download format.
Cover page
- Title: with a maximum of 20 words.
- Name(s) of the authors in the order in which it will be published: First name(s) followed by last name(s); consider whether the paternal and maternal surname are recorded and linked with a hyphen.
*NOTE: This is the way the publisher presents the order of the authors' names in all published articles. The author defines the hyphen between the surnames.
- Academic degrees of the authors (include the full name of the academic degree).
- Affiliations and institution(s) where the work was performed. Include the affiliation data of each of the authors (name and address of the institution where the study was carried out, city and country of the institution).
NOTE: Indicate all affiliations using a superscript lowercase letter at the end of each author's last name.
- Provide the ORCID code (alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies scientists and other academic authors). You must include the full address, for example: https://orcid.org/0003-4585-8734-5231. If you do not have this, you can register at the following link: https://orcid.org/
NOTE: Indicate the ORCID code of each author using a superscript number at the end of each author's last name (next to the letter of affiliation).
- Corresponding author: Name of the corresponding author; name, full address, and telephone number of the affiliated institution; email:
Corresponding Author : [Name of the corresponding author]. [Name of the institution of affiliation]. Address: [Address of the affiliated institution]. Tel.: +52 55 XXXX XXXX, [ext. 0000]. Email: [corresponding author's email]
NOTE: The information on the cover must be placed in a list in the order requested above.
Article text
The file with the text of the article must begin with the title of the research followed by the abstract and up to the references (including tables, figures, and graphs). Since this document corresponds to the blind file, it should not contain any mention of the names or initials of the authors or the institution where the study was carried out or acknowledgments. Consecutive page headers/titles may include the title, but not the authors' names. Manuscripts that do not comply with the blinding policy established by the Journal of Physiotherapy in Mental Health will be returned to the corresponding author. Authors are requested not to compress the files. Limit file size to 1 MB. Incorporate images, graphs, and/or tables in the text of the file. Pages should be numbered consecutively, starting with the first page of the blinding article file.
The author is requested to remove personal information from the Word document by changing the "Author Name" and "Last Modified By" to "user" to maintain anonymity before uploading. For more information:
Authors must follow the established guidelines for the presentation of each type of research:

The text structure must contain:
- Title
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Material and methods
- Statistical analysis
- Results
- Discussion
- Informed consent and ethical considerations
- Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Statement
- Conflict of interests
- References
- Appendixes
- Title: using a maximum 20 words
- Abstract: with a maximum of 250 words. Structured as mentioned above: 1) Introduction, 2) objectives, 3) material and methods, 4) results, and 5) conclusions.
- Keywords: include a maximum of six keywords after the abstract, written in English and Spanish, avoiding general terms, plurals, and multiplicity of concepts (such as the use of 'and' or 'de'). Keywords are used in indexing the article.
- Introduction: In this section, the author must provide context and/or the rationale for the importance of the research. It must be oriented in a way that can offer information about the problem and the importance of the research.
- Material and methods: This section should contain the information necessary to reproduce the procedures. It should contain: the study design, population, participants, sample size, variables, data source, and measurement.
- Statistical analysis: Where applicable, authors should describe statistical methods in detail to verify the described results. Where possible, quantify the results and present them with appropriate indicators of measurement error or uncertainty (such as confidence intervals). Define statistical terms, abbreviations, and symbols. Specify statistical software and the versions used.
- Results: present the results clearly and concisely, in a logical order, without extensive discussion of their meaning. It can be supported by the presentation of tables, figures, and/or graphs to clearly and concisely illustrate the research findings.
- Discussion: providing in this section a general interpretation of the results in the context of other evidence, the limitations of the research should be added. It is important in this section to argue the implications of the results for practice, policy and future research.
- Informed consent and ethical considerations
- Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Statement: declare the way in which these principles were applied in the construction of the research team, in the population under study, in the research methodology and/or in the analysis and interpretation of the results.
- Conflict of interest: must be fully detailed, all authors must declare financial information and relationships with other people or organizations that could improperly influence their work. If there is no conflict of interest, the authors must declare that they do not exist.
- References: for bibliographic references, the Vancouver format must be used.
Arabic numbers will be used and will be included in the text in order of appearance of the bibliographic citation consecutively: 1,2,3,4…. The numerical quote will be presented in the text with the corresponding number in superscript, without parentheses. Example: ....text. 8
The bibliography list will be placed at the end of the document with the same orderly numbering.
The work will be facilitated if bibliographic reference managers are used: EndNote, EndNote Web, Ref Works, Mendeley, etc.
For articles that have the DOI, at the end of each reference, the complete DOI address must appear (https://doi.org/…) with the link.
- Appendixes: If there is more than one appendix, it must be listed as A, B, etc.
- Tables and Figures: Tables concisely and efficiently illustrate relevant information in the manuscript. They must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. The table must be mentioned in the body of the text and inserted properly. Follow the standards established in Vancouver for its preparation.
The figures concisely and efficiently illustrate the relevant information of the manuscript through drawings, photographs, diagrams, etc. They must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. The figure must be mentioned in the body of the text to subsequently insert it. Follow the standards established in Vancouver for its preparation.
Authors are recommended to consult the guidelines prepared for the preparation of scientific manuscripts by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), available at:
