Physical therapists can play a key role in addressing public health issues such as work-related stress, which has had considerable negative consequences for workers’ health in Mexico. Objective: To describe the effects of a mindfulness-based intervention on work-related stress and interoceptive awareness among administrative staff in upper secondary education (n = 12). Case Description: Twelve administrative employees from an educational center were included. Prior to the intervention, participants reported stress levels ranging from "no stress" to "moderate stress," as measured by the Work Stress Test of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). Similarly, each participant presented varying levels of interoceptive awareness, measured using the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA). Intervention: The intervention consisted of twelve sessions incorporating passive and dynamic mindfulness techniques, conducted at the workplace during working hours. Results: A reduction in work-related stress levels was observed in 11 of the 12 participants, as well as an increase in interoceptive awareness in 11 participants. Conclusion: Mindfulness-based physiotherapeutic interventions may serve as valuable therapeutic resources for positively impacting work-related stress and body awareness among educational staff.
