Patient perspective

Patient Perspectives aim to incorporate the voices of individuals with lived experience as an essential dimension of healthcare and rehabilitation.

These articles may be written by patients, individuals with lived experience, or patient advocates, and may describe personal experiences related to a health condition, rehabilitation process, or therapeutic intervention.

Submissions may reflect on the personal, functional, emotional, or social impact of health conditions, as well as experiences with physiotherapy or other health interventions.

Manuscript Specifications

Word Limit
Up to 1,000 words.

References
Up to 10 references.

Tables and Figures
Up to 1 table or figure may be included if relevant.

Authors
Typically one author.

If the author does not wish to be publicly identified, submissions may be published under a pseudonym.

ORCID is not required for this type of submission.

Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts should include the following sections:

Title
Text of the experience
Conflict of Interest Statement
References
Appendices (when applicable)

Content of the Experience

The text may describe aspects such as:

• The personal experience of living with a health condition or disability
• The impact on daily life, participation, and well-being
• Experiences with physiotherapy or other health interventions
• Reflections on the rehabilitation process
• Suggestions or insights that may help improve healthcare practice

Authors are encouraged to write in a clear and personal narrative style.
